Full-Time Infant Nanny – Upper West Side

The Family

  • This warm, down-to-earth family on the Upper West Side is excited to welcome a caring nanny who will join them on their parenting journey with kindness, communication, and a true team spirit. Their home is an UWS high-rise apartment with elevator access and a community penthouse floor that includes a children’s room—perfect for indoor playdates and neighborhood connections. The location is easily accessible from the 1/2/3 subway lines. Both parents have demanding professional schedules but are deeply engaged, thoughtful caregivers who value gentle routines and open, respectful communication.

The Child

  • The family has one baby boy, currently 4 months old, who is curious, social, and loves exploring the world through movement and sensory play. He enjoys stroller naps, tummy time, play mats, and books – both listening to them and taste testing them. He loves feeding and has just begun opening his world to the varied tastes and textures of weaning.

The Role

  • This is a full-time nanny role focused entirely on infant care, developmental play, and maintaining a predictable, nurturing routine. A typical day may include walks (often including a morning stroller nap), tummy time, sensory activities, reading, bottle preparation, feeding solids as he grows, and narrating the day’s events to support early language development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing bottles and purees and feeding
  • Supporting the transition to solids with homemade purees, textures, and new tastes
  • Bath time in the early evening (around 5:30 p.m.)
  • All infant-related housekeeping: laundry, dishes, and tidying kitchen and play and nursery spaces
  • At-home play, including talking, reading and visiting the children’s playroom on the community penthouse floor
  • Planning simple outings such as curiosity filled walks, local museum visits, or time in the building turning neighbors into friends

The Schedule

  • Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Ideal start date: Late March for a smooth overlap with a parent before they return to work in April

The Travel

  • No major travel is anticipated. There may be the odd week in the Hamptons for some summer fun but this would be communicated in advance and travel/accommodation provided.

The Pay

  • Salary: $75,000 - 85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Family is open and prepared to be competitive for the right long-term match

Benefits include

  • 2 weeks PT
  • 5 paid sick/personal days
  • Weekly OMNY pass
  • Annual bonus and cost of living adjustment

You

  • You are a warm, attentive infant caregiver who loves early development and is energized by the routines and rhythms of caring for a little boy. You bring patience, intuition, and a deep understanding of infant cues—whether it’s adjusting nap timing, offering the right sensory activity, or noticing subtle changes in feeding or behavior. You delight in narrating the day, reading stories, pointing out interesting things during stroller walks, and celebrating the small but mighty milestones that define infancy. You are attentive to the baby during waking hours and do not provide him with screen time.
  • You are someone who is confident preparing bottles and homemade purees, handling a mixed feeding schedule, and supporting a gentle, thoughtful transition to solids. As he explores purees and new textures, you enjoy helping introduce new tastes while following the parents’ preferences and staying attuned to his reactions. Managing infant laundry, dishes, and tidying doesn’t feel like “extra work” to you—it's all part of providing holistic, loving care.
  • You are reliable and punctual, and you value respectful communication and check in regularly with the family about routines, observations, and recommendations. You are also a problem solver who identifies issues early, proposes solutions, and exercises good judgment that is collaborative with the family and their parenting goals. You have excellent credentials and references attesting to your competence and suitability.
  • You are a nonsmoker, fully vaccinated, and have—or are willing to renew—Infant CPR/First Aid certification as well as all the routine vaccinations. While it is not required, the family would love someone who speaks Mandarin Chinese and can naturally incorporate bilingual exposure into his day.
  • Above all, you bring warmth, kindness, steadiness, and genuine joy to your work, helping him feel safe, loved, and supported during this beautiful phase of growth.
