Position 1994

Full-Time, Live-Out Nanny, UWS – Join a warm, thoughtful family seeking a steady, joyful partner to help guide their little one’s journey!

The Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, 40 guaranteed hours
  • Family can guarantee additional overtime hours if desired
  • Start Date: Mid-March (Mom returns to work April 6th)

The Child:

  • An adorable 8‑week‑old baby boy. This healthy, happy little one is off to a strong start! Sleeping in good stretches already, he is exclusively formula-fed and hitting all of his markers. He’s in the top percentile for height and weight and responds well to engagement, smiley faces and good energy. We suspect he’ll enjoy a chatty and fun-loving nanny.

The Family:

  • Located on the UWS near 92nd & Broadway, we’re in a pre-war elevator building.
  • Two professional parents (a physician and a lawyer), each working from home a few days a week with dedicated workspace
  • Both parents were raised with structure, respect, appreciation for routines, and strong values around manners, kindness, and being helpful—and they hope to pass those on to their son with their nanny’s support and modeling.
  • Mom and Dad are yin and yang with organization, so a detail-oriented nanny would be wonderful!.
  • We’re hoping for long-term committed partnership—growing with our family is deeply valued.

You:

  • You are a warm, knowledgeable career nanny who understands the profound trust parents place in the person caring for their infant. You bring a lovely balance of friendliness and professionalism, engaging, and communicative while remaining grounded, respectful, and never intrusive. You understand how to read a home’s energy and match it: this is a thoughtful, introverted household that appreciates a nanny with positive energy who doesn’t overwhelm the space. Your approach reflects a blend of fun, firm, and fair calm authority who supports healthy structure, routines, and boundaries in a gentle and reassuring way.
  • You are deeply committed to safety and bring excellent judgment rooted in real experience with infants and the many stages that follow. You anticipate needs before they arise, know how to keep a home running smoothly, and are happy to operate independently with minimal oversight. You take initiative naturally: keeping the environment tidy, maintaining lists of household staples, monitoring developmental milestones, and keeping parents informed with helpful insights.
  • Reliability is part of who you are. Your families trust you because you show up, communicate clearly, and support them consistently. You are respectful of cultural preferences, comfortable in a screen-free environment, and supportive of fresh, varied feeding approaches as the infant grows. If you speak a second language (Spanish, French, Hindi, or Punjabi), that’s lovely—but absolutely not required.
  • Most importantly, you value long-term connections and genuinely enjoy becoming part of a family. You model kindness, helpfulness, manners, patience, and calm emotional presence—qualities that parents hope their child will grow up seeing every day. You’re the type of nanny who brings both heart and expertise to your work and helps a household feel steadier, happier, and well cared for.

The Role:

  • All infant-related care throughout the day with strong understanding of newborn through school-age development, including upcoming milestones.
  • Maintain common areas, manage light tidying, run the infant’s laundry, and keep a working list of staple items as stocks run low.
  • Provide guidance on feeding approaches—whether baby-led weaning, purées, or a combination—focusing on colorful, fresh, healthy, low-sugar options as meals progress.
  • Able to navigate our stroller in and out of the building (three steps up to enter; then elevator access).
  • Occasional flexibility appreciated, and more hours can be guaranteed if required.
  • Parents will trust you as the professional you are, providing autonomy with limited direction during the workday.

Not Required:

  • No travel now, but possibly a nice plus in the future. As a family we enjoy hiking and nature, and Outdoorsy adventures.
  • No driving and no swimming

Must haves:

  • CPR, First Aid may be renewed upon hire (within the first month) if lapsed
  • Pro‑vaccine household: annual flu shot and initial Covid vaccination series required as well as Tdap and MMR
  • Screen free, Shoe-free home; house shoes welcomed.

The Pay:

  • $35–$40 per hour with applicable overtime
  • Two weeks paid vacation
  • Five paid sick and personal days
  • Most paid federal holidays off with pay
  • Weekly OMNY pass (working weeks)
  • Healthcare reimbursement
