Full-Time Nanny for Infant in River North Chicago: Mon-Thu 9am-5pm

A family in River North (Chicago) is seeking a trusted, reliable, and experienced nanny to care for their 3-month-old baby. They are looking for a long-term commitment from a dedicated professional who specializes in infant care.

Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (32 hours per week)

Pay Rate:

• Up to $24 / hour (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Top Priorities & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with young infants (specifically as young as 3 months old).
• Excellent verifiable references from previous families with infants.
• Infant CPR and First Aid Certified.
• Confident and gentle handling of young infants, including proper head and neck support at all times.
• Strong soothing skills and comfort using multiple soothing and holding positions.
• Comfortable with different feeding positions and paced feeding techniques.
• Experience caring for babies with colic, reflux, gas, and spit-up management.
• Attentive to signs of sickness, discomfort, allergies, overheating, fatigue, or feeding issues.
• Familiar with age-appropriate play, tummy time, wake windows, and developmental interaction for infants.
• Comfortable providing contact naps during the day when needed.
• Able to trim infant nails safely and give infant baths confidently.
• Calm, patient, observant, and proactive in communicating concerns or changes in behavior.
• Non-smoker with up-to-date vaccinations (Tdap, flu, COVID preferred).

Household Expectations:

• No phone use while actively feeding, soothing, playing with, or handling the baby (except for emergencies).
• No TV or background screen time while interacting with the baby.
• During naps, quiet personal time is perfectly okay, but the nanny should remain attentive to baby cues and avoid noise-canceling headphones.
• Comfortable helping with light baby-related tasks such as bottle cleaning, sterilizing pump parts/bottles, baby laundry, and keeping feeding/play areas tidy.

Additional Qualities Needed:

• Absolute reliability and punctuality.
• Strong hygiene practices (frequent hand washing, staying home when sick, etc.).
• Comfortable following the parents’ established routines and preferences.
• Open to feedback and collaborative communication.
