Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate interactive classroom discussions to enhance student learning experiences.
- Develop, review, and update curriculum materials aligned with current nursing standards and accreditation requirements.
- Supervise students during clinical rotations across various healthcare settings including hospitals, primary care clinics, pediatric units, ICU, and senior care facilities.
- Assess student performance through examinations, practical evaluations, and documentation review to ensure competency development.
- Incorporate learning technology platforms such as Canvas and LMS (Learning Management System) to support remote and hybrid instruction.
- Guide students in creating care plans, understanding medical terminology, and applying critical thinking skills in patient care scenarios.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and teaching hospitals to coordinate clinical placements and ensure compliance with clinical education standards.
- Participate in research activities related to nursing education or healthcare practices to contribute to academic excellence.
- Mentor students on professional development topics such as nursing administration, nurse management, documentation review, and hospital experience.
- Engage in university committees and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the nursing program.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; doctoral degrees are a plus.
- Proven supervising experience within academic or clinical settings; prior higher education teaching experience is highly preferred.
- Extensive nursing background with hands-on patient care experience in acute care, ICU, pediatrics, primary care, or senior care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, care plans, documentation review processes, and nursing administration principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Experience using LMS platforms such as Canvas or similar learning technology tools for course delivery.
- Familiarity with curriculum development processes and accreditation standards for nursing programs.
