American High School invites dynamic, certified educators or those with a valid Statement of Eligibility to join our team in South Florida as a dedicated teacher serving both our on-campus microschool students and our expansive online student body.

Position Overview:

We are seeking passionate educators to work in-person with students on our Plantation, FL campus. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility, creativity, and dedication to teach small, multi-grade groups face-to-face while also managing virtual instruction, grading, and academic support remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach small group, multi-grade level classes in-person at our Plantation microschool.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and fosters respect.
• Assess student learning regularly and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement effective curriculum.
• Integrate library and technology resources to enhance student learning.
• Offer academic guidance, mentorship, and personalized support both in-person and online.
• Apply effective classroom and online behavior management strategies.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and promote academic growth.
• Conduct Discussion-Based Assessments and virtual check-ins using Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
• Stay current with online platform tools and educational best practices to support student achievement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.
• Valid Florida Teaching Certificate or Statement of Eligibility preferred.
• Prior teaching, tutoring, or internship experience strongly valued.
• Willingness to teach a variety of subjects and grade levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams (or willingness to learn).
• Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening.
• Genuine passion for student success and a commitment to educational equity.
• Background preferred in Math, Science, and English.
• Background in early learning, Kindergarten-3 grade.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
