Full-Time Outpatient Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Overview
The Physician Assistant (PA) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive mental health care to individuals across various settings. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with psychiatric disorders, while also promoting mental wellness and recovery. The PMHNP collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care that addresses both physical and mental health needs.

Duties

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families.
• Prescribe medications and monitor their effects on patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Hybrid in-person/telehealth schedule

Skills

• 1-2 years of outpatient experience
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
• Understanding of healthcare standards related to mental health treatment.
• Ability to diagnose, treat, and manage various psychiatric disorders.
• Competence in maintaining accurate medical records for effective patient management.
• Bilingual in Spanish or Polish (preferred)
• Must be licensed in the state of Illinois
