The Johnson Creek Fire Department is excited to announce an immediate opening for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. This will be a Full-Time position for a duration of up to 6-months. The Johnson Creek Fire Department provides fire and EMS services for the Village of Johnson Creek and the Townships of Aztalan, Farmington, Watertown and Milford. Responsibilities include responding to calls for service, fire suppression activities, rescue, and property preservation; provides pre-hospital EMS care to patients; preforms with limited supervision through Fire Department Standard Operating Guidelines and established protocols and directives; maintains a state of readiness of facilities and equipment by scheduled inspections, cleaning, testing, and maintenance; promotes health and safety of the department and community through education; performs related work as required, including administrative and operational tasks to meet department goals/mission.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; possess a valid WI driver’s license; be insurable to operate Fire Department vehicles and equipment; ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions; ability to maintain a favorable working relationship with co-workers, Fire Department officials, the officials of other jurisdictions, the community, and the public. Applicants will be required to submit to a medical/physical examination consistent with the requirements of the position, which will include a drug screening. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of working with combination 911 Fire/EMS department; have excellent interpersonal communication skills; along with an ability to be a great team member.

Required qualifications at time of appointment include: State of WI Certified Firefighter I. State of WI Licensed Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic,

Preferred qualifications within two years of appointment include: Driver/Operator Certification, Wisconsin Fire Inspector certification, Wisconsin Firefighter 2 certification, Wisconsin Fire Officer certification(s)

Salary:

This position is compensated at a rate of $64,542 annually and will include benefits Limited Term Employees are entitled to.
