Full-Time Physical Education Teacher (Elementary & Middle School)

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive physical education curricula tailored to elementary and middle school students, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
  • Lead engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while aligning with educational standards.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing where applicable.
  • Incorporate learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that cater to various learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum enhancements, and school-wide health initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and progress reports in compliance with education administration standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education strategies, and teaching best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Valid teaching credential/license
  • Proven experience teaching physical education at elementary and middle school levels.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques.
  • Proficiency in using learning technology tools for lesson planning and student engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, staff, and administrators.
  • Experience in curriculum development, tutoring, literacy education, math integration, and standardized testing preparation is advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate classroom management skills that foster a safe and inclusive environment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
