Full-Time Pre-K Teacher (Bayonne Head Start)

Location: Stepping Stone Academy (formerly Bayonne Head Start)

Reports To: Education Manager

Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) operates the Bayonne Head Start program, providing comprehensive early childhood education and family support services to promote school readiness for children from low-income families in our community.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Pre-K Teacher to join our team for a 10-month position. The Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing a stimulating and educational learning environment and implementing the High Scope Curriculum to promote school readiness for children ages 3-5 years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment in the classroom
• Foster school readiness goals through the implementation of daily lesson plans
• Conduct family visits and parent/teacher conferences
• Complete assessments utilizing tools such as COR and ESI
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children
• Implement High Scope Curriculum effectively
• Create developmentally appropriate learning environments
• Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and development
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff members

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, or related field with NJ Pre-k certification
• Experience: Teaching experience with children ages 3 to 5 years old
• Language Skills: Proficiency in written and verbal language skills in English (must speak English)
• Additional Skills: Knowledge of Arabic and Spanish a plus
• Technical Skills: Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Schedule: Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 3:45 pm

• Successful completion of comprehensive background check
• Fingerprinting verification
• Completion of Mantoux test
• Commitment to professional development
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information

SALARY

Starting at $60,000 annually
