Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications via IV infusion, injections, and other routes following strict aseptic techniques and medication protocols.
- Perform specialized procedures such as wound suturing, catheterization, ostomy care, and tube feeding management.
- Monitor patients’ physiological responses using laboratory results, diagnostic evaluations, and physiology knowledge to adjust care plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication administration, mobility techniques, and health coaching to foster self-care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient care accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of medical records and sensitive information at all times.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in good standing with current state certification.
- Proven experience in home health nursing or related settings such as hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, ICU, or emergency room environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in IV insertion, phlebotomy, sterile processing, wound care (including suturing), and infection control practices.
- Critical care experience such as ICU or trauma center background is highly desirable; experience with trauma medicine or Level I/II trauma centers is a plus.
- Ability to perform detailed patient assessments involving anatomy knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for triage calls, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Flexibility to travel within assigned service areas; valid driver’s license required.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law, hospice & palliative medicine principles, geriatrics including memory care and dementia care are advantageous. Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
