Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and student-centered Secondary Mathematics Teacher who is committed to developing confident, capable mathematical thinkers. The ideal candidate understands that strong foundations lead to advanced success and is dedicated to helping students build the skills, habits, and perseverance necessary to engage successfully with increasingly challenging mathematics.

Teaching Responsibilities May Include:

  • Teach Cambridge IGCSE International Mathematics.
  • Teach Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics.
  • Prepare students thoughtfully for Cambridge external examinations through structured practice and skill development.
  • Teach Algebra I, Geometry, or Compacted Mathematics (accelerated curriculum integrating multiple grade-level standards).

Elective

  • Lead Math League (competition mathematics), encouraging advanced problem-solving and enrichment opportunities.
  • Support students in developing logical reasoning and creative mathematical thinking beyond the standard curriculum.

Requirements:

We are searching for a reliable and passionate integrated math teacher to join our faculty.

  • Degree in Mathematics or Engineering.
  • Master’s degree preferable.
  • Degree in secondary education with a focus in math also acceptable.
  • Relevant teaching license or certification.
  • Previous teaching experience in algebra, geometry, statistics and probability would be advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills and knowledge of Google Classroom, Zoom, Canvas and Microsoft Office experience would be a plus
  • Work well with young adults, parents and other staff members.
  • Ability to connect the concepts/topics to Islam.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and teach lessons in the area of integrated math which includes high school algebra, geometry, statistics and probability, using resources provided.
  • Preparing and delivering engaging math lessons that are congruent with students' educational needs to students from different backgrounds, who all have different interests and abilities.
  • Monitoring student performance, and adjusting teaching strategies and techniques for improved content delivery.
  • Establishing classroom and field trip rules and ensuring all students understand and accept them.
  • Setting up exams, assessments, and experiments in accordance with curriculum requirements and standards of the state and district.
  • incorporating current events and themes into lessons to make them more relevant to students.
  • Collaborating with other staff to develop lesson plans, teaching strategies, and interventions as needed.
  • Ensuring all curriculum, school, and state requirements are met.·
  • Submitting lesson plans, quizzes, tests the Friday prior to week of instruction
  • Encouraging participation within the classroom to promote the consolidation of learning content.
  • Ensuring respectful and open lines of communication with parents. Being available to parents through written communication, setting up conferences, and educating parents in regards to Integrated Math curriculum.
  • Communicating with parents, students, lead teacher, and administrator regarding underperformance and other concerns while respecting cultural differences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
