Duties
- Perform comprehensive respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures such as ventilator management, airway assessments, EEGs, EMGs, and other neurophysiological tests with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct patient assessments by evaluating vital signs, respiratory function, neurological status, and overall physical condition to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Manage complex ventilator systems and airway devices in diverse settings including ICU, emergency rooms, operating rooms, and outpatient clinics.
- Administer medications related to respiratory therapy and neurological diagnostics while adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor patients continuously during procedures, ensuring stability of vital signs and immediate response to any adverse events or emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians specializing in pulmonology, neurology, critical care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and trauma—to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Document all procedures meticulously in medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and medical terminology standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to respiratory and neurological functions to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
- Support hospital initiatives for quality improvement by participating in training sessions on airway management techniques and critical care protocols.
Skills
- Extensive experience in hospital medicine environments such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Level I & II trauma centers, outpatient clinics, and emergency departments.
- Proficiency in airway management techniques including intubation, extubation, suctioning, and ventilator troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy relevant to respiratory and neurological systems along with medical terminology expertise.
- Critical care experience with ventilator management skills essential for acute care settings.
- Ability to perform patient assessments accurately by evaluating vital signs and respiratory or neurological status in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols specific to respiratory therapy and neuro diagnostics.
- Experience working within hospital environments that require adherence to safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications or higher levels of emergency response training.
- Outpatient or clinic experience preferred for supporting diagnostic procedures outside acute inpatient settings.
