Full Time Welder

Top J Metal Works has an opening for a welder/fabrication technician.
We are a precision manufacturing facility that machines and fabricates products for high-demand industries all across the country.

Experience/Education

• High school diploma or GED
• At least (1) year of TIG & MIG welding experience required, previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is a plus.

Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Plan jobs and maintain a schedule.
• Operate cutting torches and grind burrs/smooth edges.
• Measure materials with calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure accurate cuts and welds.
• Must inspect own work for quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Skills

• Proficiency in MIG and TIG is a plus, along with other fabrication skills such as grinding and saw cutting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Experience working with sheet metal or structural steel components.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.

We will teach what you need to know, but you must have some machine shop/fabrication experience. There is a lot of opportunity to grow in this position.

You must be available to commute for an in-person interview & basic skills/measurement test. This is an on-site position in Giddings, Texas.

Position is full-time and is Mon-Fri: 7am-3:30pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
