Position Summary
We are seeking a Functional Analyst / Documentation Lead to support requirements clarification, backlog refinement, acceptance criteria development, process analysis, training content, and final project documentation. This role will help bridge business needs and technical delivery while ensuring project knowledge is captured in clear, structured, reusable artifacts.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, clarify, and organize functional, workflow, and operational requirements.
- Translate requirements into user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Support backlog grooming, sprint preparation, and requirement traceability.
- Document business rules, operational scenarios, and system interactions in a clear, structured manner.
- Prepare implementation guides, user support materials, operational runbooks, training aids, and handoff documentation.
- Facilitate workshops, note decisions, and maintain documentation of assumptions and actions.
- Assist with UAT preparation, user-facing content, and closeout documentation.
- Help organize final delivery packages and transition materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Technical Communication, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, implementation analysis, technical writing, or a hybrid documentation/analyst role.
- Experience documenting software requirements, workflows, and technical or operational procedures.
- Experience documenting requirements, procedures, and delivery artifacts in compliance-sensitive environments.
- Ability to organize requirements, process flows, traceability, and operational documentation to support audits and security reviews.
- Familiarity with documenting control-oriented implementation details aligned to NIST SP 800-171 environments.
- Strong writing, editing, formatting, and document organization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing control narratives, implementation evidence, runbooks, and training artifacts for security-focused systems.
- Familiarity with enhanced security documentation needs associated with NIST SP 800-172 style environments.
- Experience preparing training materials, runbooks, and implementation guides.
- Experience working with distributed teams and milestone-based delivery.
