Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough virtual patient assessments focusing on functional medicine principles, including detailed health histories and physical examinations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating nutrition, lifestyle modifications, supplements, and other integrative therapies.
- Administer and monitor treatments such as IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser procedures within telehealth protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for complex cases involving chronic conditions, geriatrics, pediatrics, or behavioral health.
- Utilize EMR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide health coaching and education to promote patient engagement and adherence to treatment regimens.
- Manage medication administration including injections and IV therapies while adhering to sterile processing and aseptic techniques.
Skills
- Proven experience with telehealth platforms and virtual patient management.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to functional medicine.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation.
- Expertise in advanced nursing procedures including venipuncture, catheter care, tube feeding management, and sterile technique.
- Experience with chronic disease management including diabetes, autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal issues, and neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s or dementia care.
- Ability to perform clinical research activities and stay current with emerging integrative health practices.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education across diverse populations including children, seniors in assisted living or nursing homes, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
