Overview:

The Fundraising and Communications Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Development Department’s fundraising and outreach efforts. This position provides administrative assistance across a range of activities, including donor and public relations, sponsorship and gift solicitation, direct mail appeals, special events, and grant inquiries. The coordinator also contributes to broader departmental initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and support for the organization. As a forward-facing role, strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative role, ideally within a nonprofit communications or fundraising environment
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with general office equipment
  • Experience working with a CRM system
  • Flexibility with work hours and ability to accommodate special requests
  • Comfortable using a variety of social media platforms
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, follow through, and work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage and communicate sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with staff and the public in both formal and informal settings, including events and public speaking

Paid Time Off:

  • Up to 80 hours of vacation during the first calendar year of employment. Employees accrue an additional 8 vacation hours each subsequent calendar year, up to a maximum of 120 hours.
  • Up to 48 hours of personal time per calendar year.
  • 9 paid holidays.

Pay: $55,000 - $60,000/year

What You Will Do:

  • Special Events: Support planning, coordination, and execution of events, including tracking responses, managing sponsorships, and assisting with volunteer logistics.
  • Social Media: Help create and monitor posts and campaigns, acquire content, and engage with followers.
  • Communications: Assist in implementing the organization’s strategic communication plan.
  • Donor Management: Maintain donor records in Network for Good, generate reports and acknowledgments, and respond to inquiries.
  • Documentation: Prepare mail mergers, mailing lists, and professional communications for events and appeals.
  • File Management: Organize and maintain digital and physical files, including donor research data.
  • Meetings: Schedule and prepare materials for meetings, track attendance, and support agenda development.

Work Location: Westbury, NY (Nassau County)

Work Hours/Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
