Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
The Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting and executing fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach strategies that advance the Adelbrook mission. This role ensures the delivery of high-impact, mission-driven fundraising
initiatives that strengthen donor relationships, expand community partnerships, and increase philanthropic support. The Manager works collaboratively with agency leadership, program teams, volunteers, and external stakeholders to elevate brand visibility, drive donor engagement, and support long-term sustainability and growth.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Traditional weekday office hours; however, agency events and community activities may occur in the evenings and weekends. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Support the implementation of a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with agency goals.
  • Coordinate and execute annual appeals, Giving Tuesday campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and other donor initiatives.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of individual donors, sponsors, and community supporters.
  • Assist with grant research, proposal preparation, and submission of required documentation.
  • Support corporate sponsorship outreach and relationship management.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and track engagement and revenue metrics within the donor database.
  • Prepare regular reports on fundraising performance, donor trends, and campaign outcomes.
  • Ensure timely donor acknowledgments, recognition efforts, and stewardship communications.
  • Represent the agency at community events, networking groups, sponsorship opportunities, and outreach initiatives to increase awareness and partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, schools, and volunteer groups.
  • Lead volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts.
  • Coordinate mission-focused storytelling initiatives by partnering with program teams to highlight impact and client success stories.
  • Support public relations efforts and community-based campaigns to enhance visibility.
  • Plan and execute fundraising and community engagement events, including logistics, sponsorship coordination, vendor management, and post-event reporting.
  • Oversee volunteer coordination and event committees as needed.
  • Track event budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Work closely with internal leadership to align fundraising initiatives with strategic priorities.
  • Partner with marketing staff to develop compelling content for newsletters, digital campaigns, social media, and promotional materials.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the donor pipeline and strengthen community presence.
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies, confidentiality standards, and required trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in fundraising, development, marketing, or community engagement
  • Experience in grant writing, donor cultivation, event planning, or corporate sponsorship development preferred
  • Demonstrated success in meeting fundraising goals
  • Experience using donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, HubSpot, or similar platforms)
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency and comfort with digital communication tools
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to community events
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required agency certifications, as applicable
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Primarily office-based, with regular travel to events and community locations
  • Occasional evening and weekend event attendance required
  • Regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and active participation during events
  • Interaction with individuals served within residential or school settings as part of storytelling and engagement efforts
  • Travel between locations and occasional overnight travel may be required
