Fundraising Lead (Volunteer)
About this Virtual Volunteer Opportunity:
As a Fundraising Lead (Volunteer), you will help ReadyMeNow build practical funding pathways that support our Seat Bank and CPR popups. You will focus on fundraising, grants, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) so we can bring lifesaving training and personal readiness coaching to more communities in Mississippi.
Important Note: This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity to help others by donating your time and talent. It is not a compensated or paid employment position.
This role is limited to individuals who are currently living in the United States and able to complete a U.S. based background check through our third party provider. Preference is given to candidates who are familiar with Mississippi or the Southeast.
Who this could be a great fit for:
- People with experience in fundraising, CSR, corporate giving, or nonprofit development who want to apply those skills in a volunteer capacity.
- Leaders who enjoy collaboration to produce simple systems that others can follow.
- People who like turning ideas into offers, campaigns, and conversations that inspire private donors to give or sponsor.
- Anyone who wants meaningful, mission driven work with a small nonprofit where their efforts are visible and appreciated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate ReadyMeNow fundraising and CSR efforts in close collaboration with the Founding Executive Director.
- Develop clear Seat Bank and CPR popup sponsorship offers for employers and sponsors, plan simple giving levels, and describe benefits in plain language.
- Identify and qualify CSR, sponsorship, and grant opportunities that align with our mission and current capacity.
- Draft and refine short letters of inquiry, brief proposals, and follow up messages to employers, funders, and CSR partners.
- Help shape descriptions and messaging for CSR style listings and giving campaigns on platforms such as Deeds, PayPal Giving Fund, GoFundMe, and similar channels.
- Support basic digital outreach for fundraising campaigns by providing clear copy and simple content ideas for webpages, emails, and social posts.
- Create simple talking points and one page handouts that local volunteers can use at trainings and tabling events when they speak about Seat Bank and CPR popups.
- Track straightforward fundraising metrics, such as employer conversations started and sponsorships or pledges secured, and share regular updates with the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Currently living in the United States, with interest in strengthening charitable education and emergency readiness in communities throughout Mississippi.
- Experience in one or more of these areas: fundraising, grant writing, CSR or corporate giving, nonprofit development, sponsorships, or campaign strategy.
- Strong plain language writing skills and virtual presentation skills for short proposals, emails, and one page cases for support.
- Comfortable working virtually and collaborating with a very small leadership team in a startup nonprofit environment.
- Able to think in terms of simple systems and repeatable processes rather than one time efforts only.
- Reliable time commitment of about 4 to 6 hours per week in the early months, then about 2 to 4 hours per week as cadence stabilizes.
- Formal degree not required. We welcome self taught and nontraditional backgrounds with solid fundraising or CSR experience.
What you will gain:
- A clear, named role helping shape how ReadyMeNow approaches fundraising, grants, and CSR.
- Ownership of well defined projects, such as Seat Bank sponsorship offers and funding campaigns that you helped design.
- Regular collaboration with the Founding Executive Director on plans, priorities, and simple adjustments as we learn what works.
- The chance to see your work turn into funded Seat Bank sponsorships and CPR popups that help create skilled bystanders and support fully certified care providers in communities.
- Verified volunteer service and, upon request, a detailed reference that describes your contributions, responsibilities, and results.
