Funeral Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the funeral industry and provide meaningful bereavement support to families during their time of loss. This role requires a blend of interpersonal sensitivity, organizational skills, and business acumen to manage all aspects of funeral directing and event planning.

In addition to funeral service responsibilities, the candidate will also oversee the management of a small team of loyal, hardworking, long-time employees. The position includes light bookkeeping duties and responsibility for developing, implementing, and managing office policies and procedures to ensure efficient daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including transportation, preparation, and presentation of the deceased.
• Provide bereavement support to families, guiding them through the planning process with empathy and professionalism.
• Conduct consultations with families to discuss arrangements, preferences, and costs associated with services.
• Ensure compliance with all health regulations and sanitation standards in the handling of remains.
• Manage logistics for memorial services, including venue setup, floral arrangements, and catering if necessary.
• Oversee and support a small, dedicated staff, fostering teamwork and maintaining a respectful, compassionate work environment.
• Perform light bookkeeping tasks, including expense tracking, payments, and record management.
• Develop, implement, and maintain office policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service consistency.
• Prepare necessary documentation for death certificates and permits while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment that adheres to safety standards.
• Engage in sales activities related to funeral products and services offered by the establishment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $76,105.45 - $91,653.88 per year
