Job Summary
This position will oversee CEM and COM systems, safeguard furnace assets, and serve as a reliable backup to the Batch & Furnace Supervisor. By learning and mastering the new furnace operation, technology and software, this role ensures operational continuity, protects the company’s significant investment, and supports a seamless leadership transition.
MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn and master the new furnace operation, technology, and software integration.
- Oversee and maintain CEM (Continuous Emissions Monitoring) and COM (Continuous Opacity Monitoring) systems to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Support daily furnace operations, providing backup leadership for the Batch & Furnace Supervisor.
- Safeguard critical furnace assets through preventive maintenance, operational discipline, and continuous monitoring.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to minimize downtime, energy and optimize production efficiency.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and guidance on furnace-related issues.
- Mentor and develop team members to retain knowledge and build future talent within the department.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in furnace performance, energy efficiency, and environmental compliance.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable furnace operations.
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred), or equivalent technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in furnace or industrial operations, with strong technical expertise.
- Hands-on experience with furnace automation, monitoring systems (CEM/COM), and industrial software.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, and mentor employees.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to work day shift with on-call availability and flexibility as required by furnace operations.
- Pay Range $81,000 - $101,000 - based on experience
