Position Summary
The Client Manager serves as the primary point of contact for furniture clients from project kickoff through final delivery. This role bridges the gap between our furniture sales team and production, ensuring that client expectations are clearly communicated, project timelines are maintained, and billing is managed accurately. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects and relationships simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Client Communication & Relationship Management
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for furniture clients throughout the lifecycle of each project
- Provide proactive updates on project status, milestones, and any schedule changes
- Manage client expectations with professionalism and transparency
- Field and resolve client questions, concerns, and change requests in a timely manner
- Coordinate client approvals on drawings, finishes, and materials as needed
Project Scheduling & Coordination
- Build and maintain delivery schedules and project milestone timelines
- Track project stages from order entry through production, finishing, and installation
- Coordinate delivery logistics with the production floor, logistics team, and client site contacts
- Identify and communicate scheduling conflicts or delays early, and work with the team to develop solutions
Billing & Financial Administration
- Prepare and send client invoices at appropriate project milestones
- Track payment schedules and follow up on outstanding balances
- Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure billing accuracy and proper revenue recognition
- Manage change order documentation and associated billing adjustments
Cross-Functional Liaison
- Act as the bridge between the furniture sales team and the project management team, ensuring a smooth handoff from sale to execution
- Communicate client requirements and project details clearly to production and project management
- Participate in internal project meetings to stay aligned on capacity, timelines, and priorities
- Flag potential issues across departments and help drive resolution
QualificationsRequired
- 1–3 years of experience in client-facing roles such as account management, project coordination, customer service, or similar
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working with spreadsheets, scheduling tools, and basic financial documents
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong follow-through
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment
Preferred but Not Required
- Degree or coursework in architecture, interior design, construction management, or a related field
- Familiarity with millwork, custom furniture, or the architectural woodworking industry
- Experience with ERP systems, project management software, or CRM platforms
- Background in hospitality, commercial interiors, or high-end residential design projects
