Tashkeel is an art and design studio, and consultancy dedicated to fostering creative excellence, supporting emerging and established designers, and providing a space where ideas take shape. Through Tasmeem Tashkeel Consultancy, we collaborate with clients to deliver bespoke design solutions, from furniture and product development to large-scale commissioned works. We are seeking a Furniture & Product Design Assistant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a design assistant to support our design team in managing client projects, overseeing logistics, and maintaining an organized and efficient design sample library.

Key Responsibilities: -

Sample Library & Design Storage Management-

• Maintain and organize Tashkeel’s design sample library and storage.

• Label, document, and catalog all incoming and outgoing design samples, ensuring a comprehensive database is kept up to date.

• Track sample usage across projects and maintain inventory levels.

• Ensure proper care, handling, and storage of all design materials.

Client Project Support & Logistics-

• Assist the design and production lead with manufacturer coordination, including scheduling deliveries, tracking deadlines, and quality control.

• Work with the in-house art and design consultant to manage client scheduling, manufacturing, and deliverables with all projects under Tashkeel.

• Support order fulfillment, packaging, and product dispatch for clients.

• Coordinate with storage and art & design delivery services to ensure timely and secure product deliveries.

Design & Production Assistance-

• Support the design team in research, and material sourcing.

• Assist in the creation of design presentations, mood boards, and technical drawings.

• Liaise with vendors and suppliers for pricing, ordering, and production timelines.

• Maintain production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.

• Support with on-site installations and quality checks.

Tanween by Tashkeel Mentorship Program Coordination-

• Support the Tanween by Tashkeel designers in finalizing their products for manufacturing and commercialization.

• Ensure all mentored designers submit schematic designs and detailed technical documentation of their products.

• Maintain an updated database of finalized product designs, ensuring all files are ready for quotations and manufacturing.

• Assist designers in collecting their technical drawings and specifications, ensuring industry-standard documentation. If a designer cannot produce it, ensure the in house Tashkeel design team has all the information to produce the schematic and detailed designs for each design piece.

• Act as a liaison between Tanween designers and manufacturers to facilitate smooth production processes. If a designer is not available work with the design and production lead to get the manufacturing and deliverables ready on time.

• Create a database with data on items sold and items in stock for sale.

Skills & Qualifications-

• Degree or diploma in Furniture Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field.

• Strong organizational skills with experience in inventory management and documentation. • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools.

• Experience working with manufacturers, suppliers, and logistics teams.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

• Interest in sustainability and responsible design practices is a plus.
