The Sales Associate is responsible for helping customers create comfortable, beautiful spaces by guiding them through furniture selections, fabrics, finishes, and design options. This role emphasizes excellent customer service, strong product knowledge, and building trust with every guest who visits the store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide a welcoming showroom experience
- Assist customers in selecting products/services that fit their style, space, and budget
- Demonstrate knowledge of styles, materials, fabrics, and customization options
- Create and process customer orders accurately
- Follow up with customers regarding orders, questions, and product availability
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom and work space
- Stay informed on current promotions, product updates, and company policies
- Work collaboratively with office staff, warehouse, and delivery teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment
Qualifications/Skills:
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to learn product construction, materials, and customization options
- Comfortable using computers and order systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong relationship building skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple customer leads and
- opportunities
- Consistent follow-up with customers through phone, email, and other communication platforms
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while assisting customers
- Ability to occasionally move or adjust smaller showroom accessories or displays
- Ability to demonstrate furniture features when assisting customers
- Ability to safely ascend and descend stairs as part of normal work activities
Work Environment
This position operates in a retail showroom environment where customer traffic can vary. At times the store may be busy assisting multiple customers, while other times may be slower. During slower periods, employees are expected to remain productive by following up with customers, maintaining the showroom, and supporting store operations.
