FV Maintenance-Building Maintenance

About the Role:

The FV Maintenance-Building Maintenance role is essential for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic upkeep of commercial buildings in Orwigsburg, Frackville & Hazleton. This position focuses on performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs to building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components. The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and operational disruptions by addressing maintenance issues proactively and efficiently. Collaboration with vendors, contractors, and internal teams is key to managing projects and maintaining compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Ultimately, this role contributes to creating a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for occupants and visitors alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repair techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements to identify maintenance needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure all building systems operate efficiently and safely.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, troubleshooting issues to determine appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, upgrades, and compliance inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, materials used, and work orders to support operational transparency and planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations during maintenance activities.
  • Assist in managing inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.

Skills:

The required skills enable the candidate to perform hands-on maintenance tasks effectively, ensuring building systems are operational and safe. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is applied daily to diagnose and repair issues, minimizing downtime. Reading technical documents and blueprints supports accurate maintenance and compliance with building codes. Preferred skills such as certification and experience with maintenance management software enhance efficiency and record-keeping. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills help prioritize tasks and coordinate with vendors, ensuring timely completion of maintenance projects.
