Purpose of Position
The business development team is a specialized team of students that bring their business knowledge and passion to assist in the creation of business plans and strategies for new products and services being created at the Berglund Center.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for a person to engage in the business development process for one of the three innovation projects supported by the Berglund Center this academic year.
Primary responsibility includes assisting with the development of the business plans for the Berglund Center sponsored projects.
- Works closely with team leaders to identify needs, gaps and strategies to assist with the creation of a business plan
- Assists in preparing the business plan document and conducts market research to assist with the marketing and commercialization strategies of each project
Competencies to practice: Apply marketing, finance and general business knowhow to help develop sound business plans
Length of employment: Academic year 25/26, October through June 30 2026
Supervisor: Andy Soria, PhD. Director of the Berglund Center
Wage rate: $16.30 per hour
Qualifications
General Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting, marketing and finance principles.
- Ability to work independently
Desired Qualifications:
- Business major
- Previous experience with writing business plans
