- About the Role: Join our 2-person team as a hybrid gameplay designer focused on C++ architecture and systems integration. You'll design and implement scalable mechanics—resource gathering, interactive structures, and dynamic encounters—using C++ and Blueprints. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a focused role, leveraging UE5.4 tools to deliver a compelling showcase.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop core gameplay systems, including resource processing flows, interactive elements, and event-based interactions.
- Implement scalable logic for environmental and defensive features, ensuring seamless integration with existing tools.
- Create AI behaviors using Behavior Trees and EQS for responsive challenges.
- Tie mechanics to user interfaces and progression flows, optimizing for performance.
- Collaborate remotely with our team to refine and test a key gameplay segment.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) experience, with strong C++ and Blueprint skills in interactive systems.
- Proven ability to build efficient architectures, such as data-driven loops or modular components, with a portfolio of relevant work.
- Familiarity with UE5.4 features like procedural tools and optimization techniques.
- Self-motivated with own development setup, comfortable in a hybrid remote role.
- Based in Florida, USA; available for hybrid setup.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data management (e.g., Data Tables for configurations).
- Knowledge of AI scripting for adaptive behaviors.
