Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Garage Door Technician with hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of garage doors and related systems. Your expertise in mechanical systems, construction techniques, and technical troubleshooting will ensure our customers receive top-quality service. Duties
- Install, repair, and replace garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, and tracks with precision and efficiency
- Perform glass installation for door panels or windows as needed to meet client specifications
- Use power tools and hand tools effectively for fabrication, assembly, and adjustments
- Conduct welding and metal fabrication tasks to reinforce or modify door components
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installations and repairs
- Handle heavy lifting of doors and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Execute door hanging, frame carpentry, lock installation, caulking, trim carpentry, and fixture installation to ensure proper fit and finish
- Utilize electrical experience for wiring openers or troubleshooting electrical components in garage systems
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications on-site using metal stud framing or other construction techniques
- Read construction plans or schematics to guide installation processes on various building sites
- Assist with remodeling projects involving garage spaces or adjacent areas as needed
- Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs performed, parts used, and customer interactions
Qualifications
- Proven experience in garage door installation and repair with a strong mechanical background
- Skilled in glass installation, welding, carpentry (including trim carpentry), electrical work, and fixture setup
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction site procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various work environments
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and metal framing techniques
- Knowledge of locksmithing principles related to lock installation and security features
- Experience with remodeling projects involving framing, drywall, caulking or trim work is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients professionally
