Garbage Truck Driver (CDL)

Job Overview
We are seeking another motivated and dependable Garbage Truck Driver (CDL) to join our dynamic waste management team. In this role, you will operate various types of commercial trucks, including front loader, rear loader and side loader to efficiently collect and transport waste materials. Your expertise in driving heavy-duty vehicles combined with mechanical knowledge will ensure safe and timely pickups across designated routes. Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks such as front loader, rear loader, side loader and flatbed to collect waste from residential and commercial sites.
• Load and unload waste materials using mechanical systems or manual labor as required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, pickups, and deliveries; report any vehicle issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow established safety procedures and traffic laws to prevent accidents or injuries during operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding route changes or operational updates.
• Assist with maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels or minor repairs to keep trucks in optimal condition.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL license; knowledge of manual transmission is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks.
• Experience operating various types of trucks including front loader, rear loader, side loader and flatbeds.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during loading/unloading processes.
• Strong understanding of load securing procedures for safe transportation.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with traffic laws and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – Class A or B
• At least 1 year of experience in the garbage/waste industry (multiple years preferred)
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Ability to safely operate a garbage truck and perform the physical demands of the role
• Punctual, dependable, and safety-focused

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
