Garbage Truck Driver – Rear Load

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Garbage Truck Driver to operate a rear load refuse truck on residential and/or commercial collection routes. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to providing excellent service to the community. Key Responsibilities: Operate a rear load garbage truck safely and efficiently along assigned routes. Collect residential or commercial refuse and recyclables as scheduled. Work in coordination with a helper or crew to load materials into the truck. Monitor vehicle performance and conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Ensure loads are secured and disposed of properly at designated facilities. Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies. Report any vehicle issues, route changes, or safety concerns promptly. Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required by DOT and company policies. Provide courteous and professional service to customers and the public. Qualifications: Valid Drivers License (CDL Class B preferred) with a clean driving record Minimum [1–2 years] of commercial driving experience, preferably in waste collection. Ability to operate hydraulic controls and rear load mechanisms. Physical stamina to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs, climb in/out of trucks, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong attention to safety and detail. Ability to work early morning hours, overtime, and occasional weekends or holidays as needed. Good communication and teamwork skills. Working Conditions: Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Exposure to waste materials, odors, and heavy traffic areas. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
