Position Overview
Wright Landscaping is seeking a skilled and passionate Garden Designer to join our staff. This position will oversee the design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of seasonal annuals, perennial beds, and rose gardens across our high-end residential properties. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on horticultural expertise with an eye for design, ensuring our clients’ landscapes remain vibrant, healthy, and beautiful throughout the growing season.
Key Responsibilities
Seasonal Planting & Design
- Plan, coordinate, and install seasonal annual displays (spring, summer, fall, and winter).
- Assist with layout and plant selection to enhance overall aesthetics.
Perennial & Rose Care
- Prune, deadhead, fertilize, and monitor perennial beds for peak performance.
- Implement best practices for rose health, including fertilization, pest/disease monitoring, and seasonal pruning.
Maintenance & Monitoring
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor plant health, soil conditions, and irrigation needs.
- Identify and address issues related to pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
Client & Team Coordination
- Collaborate with landscape designers, maintenance crews, and project managers to ensure installations meet client expectations.
- Communicate proactively with clients and team members regarding seasonal schedules, plant care, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on horticulture or landscape maintenance experience, with a focus on annuals, perennials, or roses.
- Knowledge of plant care, soil health, pruning techniques, and pest/disease management.
- Ability to identify a wide variety of annuals, perennials, and roses.
- Aesthetic eye for plant combinations, seasonal color, and design.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license required.
