Gardener / Landscape Maintenance Worker - Seasonal Full and Part Time

Locally family owned business since 1998 seeks seasonal gardeners. Season starts March 1st as weather allows, gets busier through summer, than tapers back down, typically concluding around Thanksgiving.

Prefer those who are available 20 - 39 hours/week. We don't work weekends unless we've had inclement weather during the week. In that instance, we may offer voluntary weekend shifts. Weekends are never required.

Applicants must have valid drivers license, your own vehicle capable of fitting long-handled tools, valid insurance, and a reasonably good driving record. Smart phone or daily computer access REQUIRED.

We are primarily focused on gardening and maintenance, rather than landscaping so detail and a commitment to increasing plant knowledge is a must. We do not do any heavy landscaping, just the occasional new garden install.

Preferred applicants will have relevant landscaping/gardening project experience. Must be dependable and understand that work is not optional. Capable of working independently or with a team depending on project. Strong communication skills.

If an offer is made, you will start as a Temp until you have worked a total of 30 billable hours. This is a probationary period including training, to be paid at $16/hour. If job performance was satisfactory, you will be offered a position for the season, with option to continue to following year if in good standing at the end of the season at our starting wage of $17/hour.

After 45 days of employment from official hire date, and with good performance, we offer monthly retention bonuses.

We are a RESIDENTIAL gardening company meaning employees get to enjoy varied outdoor work environments at homes in different parts of Colorado Springs. We are a small family owned and operated company who delivers personalized service to our clientele so flexibility, pro-activity, and dependability are essential. Must enjoy working outdoors and meet the physical demands of gardening/landscaping.

This is a W2 position. We maintain all proper insurances, pay our taxes, and adhere to all relevant laws.

Summary

As a Gardener - Seasonal Part Time, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of our client's landscapes. Your core skills in gardening, horticulture, and growing experience will be essential in executing various tasks such as planting, weeding, pruning and watering.
