Gas Engineer - South Birmingham

Location: South Birmingham
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Role Overview

The Gas Engineer will support Broad Oak Group’s retrofit and decarbonisation programmes by delivering high-quality heating installations within occupied domestic properties. The role involves installing, upgrading and commissioning gas heating systems ensuring all works are completed in line with industry standards, compliance requirements and programme specifications.

Working as part of a wider delivery team, the successful candidate will liaise with technical, compliance and office-based teams to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery. A strong focus on customer service, workmanship and safety is essential. Ongoing training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

· Install and commission gas boilers & central heating systems

· Carry out system upgrades including radiators, pipework and hot water cylinders

· Ensure all works comply with Gas Safe regulations, PAS 2030/2035 and manufacturer guidelines

· Complete all required job documentation accurately and in line with compliance requirements

· Work within occupied properties, maintaining high levels of customer care and professionalism

· Liaise with retrofit coordinators, technical teams and office staff to ensure efficient delivery

· Identify and report any issues or remedial works required during installation

· Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety procedures

· Manage workload effectively to meet programme deadlines

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Fully Gas Safe qualified (ACS: CCN1, CEN-WAT, HTR1, CKR1)
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in heating installation
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating (preferred)
  • Unvented Hot Water (G3) qualification (desirable)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
