Gas Engineer/Plumber

We are looking for an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer to join our family-run business.

The role is mainly focused on boiler repairs and fault finding, so we are looking for somebody who is very strong at diagnostics, can work independently, and takes pride in getting to the root cause of problems properly rather than guessing or changing parts unnecessarily.

The successful engineer should be confident and experienced in:

• Boiler repairs and fault finding
• Accurate diagnostics on combi, system and regular boilers
• Boiler servicing and annual maintenance
• Boiler installations and replacements
• Gas safety inspections / landlord certificates
• Plumbing repairs and general domestic plumbing
• Gas cooker and hob installations
• Heating system repairs, controls, valves, pumps and radiators

A large part of the role will involve attending boiler breakdowns and diagnosing faults quickly and correctly. We want somebody who is:

We are not looking for someone who rushes, guesses or swaps parts unnecessarily. We want someone who takes the time to diagnose properly, fix things correctly first time where possible, and leave customers feeling looked after.

For boiler installations, we want somebody who works to a high standard, takes pride in neat pipework and finishes, and can complete installations efficiently and professionally.

You will be expected to:

• Manage your own diary and workload
• Communicate clearly with customers and the office
• Take clear photos and notes
• Recommend any further work needed
• Keep paperwork and certificates up to date
• Work well as part of the team whilst also being able to work independently

Essential requirements:

• Current ACS Gas Qualifications
• Full UK driving licence
• Minimum 10 years domestic gas experience
• Strong experience in boiler repairs and diagnostics
• Experience with boiler installations and servicing
• Good plumbing knowledge
• Ability to work independently

Preferred but not essential:

• LPG qualification
• Unvented qualification
• Experience with electrical fault finding / controls
• Experience using Commusoft or similar job management software

Pay: £29,497.45-£53,381.24 per year
