Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing, mechanical systems, and safety regulations. The ideal applicant will possess practical experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and carpentry, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair gas systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues with gas appliances and piping
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete installation and repair tasks
- Perform heavy lifting when handling equipment or materials necessary for projects
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Assist with system upgrades or modifications as required
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and company policies
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role involving plumbing, mechanical systems, or gas installations
- Proficiency in welding, carpentry, plumbing, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to installations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Valid commercial driving licence is desirable but not essential
- Experience in working with both residential and commercial gas systems is advantageous
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in gas engineering or related fields are preferred
