Gas Installations Engineer

Job Title - Gas Engineer - Installations (Domestic)

Location - Chippenham (field based)
Salary - £43,000pa plus van and fuel card

Hours - 39 hours per week

About the role

GreenSquareAccord is looking for a skilled Gas Installation Engineer to join our Direct Works Trades Team within the Heating Directorate.

This is a field-based role where you`ll focus on the installation, commissioning and upgrading of domestic gas appliances, primarily boilers, central heating systems and associated pipework. Your work will help ensure our homes are safe, energy efficient and compliant, while delivering a great service to our customers.

What you`ll be doing

  • Installing and commissioning domestic boilers, heating systems and pipework in line with Gas Safe standards
  • Carrying out pressure testing, flue gas analysis and full safety checks on new installations
  • Upgrading heating controls and replacing outdated or faulty components to improve efficiency
  • Completing all compliance paperwork, gas safety records and work logs using digital mobile technology
  • Providing clear advice to residents on appliance use and energy efficiency
  • Diagnosing faults and occasionally supporting servicing and repair of existing domestic systems
  • Ensuring strict compliance with health & safety policies, procedures and legislation
  • Working professionally, courteously and with respect for residents and colleagues always.

What we`re looking for

Essential

  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • ACS qualifications including CCN1, CEN1, WAT1
  • HTR1, CKR1, CPA1, UVHW
  • Gas Safe Registered
  • Proven experience in domestic gas installations and fault finding
  • Strong technical knowledge of domestic gas appliances, pipework and controls
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and diagrams
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • Professional, customer-focused approach

Skills & experience

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage your own workload
  • Confident using hand-held electronic devices (tablets/smartphones)
  • Strong attention to safety, cleanliness and quality of work
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Flexible attitude, including willingness to support apprentices
  • Comfortable working at heights (ladders, scaffolding, MEWPs)
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
