Job Purpose:
McConnell is a Principal Contractor who deliver external refurbishment, modernisation and planned maintenance services for public and private sector property owners across the UK. - Salary: Depending on experience
- Working Hours: Permanent Full Time 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 3.30pm on Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out the installation of kitchens and bathrooms, including all associated plumbing works
- Carry out alterations to gas pipework in line with project requirements, ensuring full compliance with Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations
- Install and modify hot and cold water systems, waste systems, and sanitaryware (sinks, toilets, baths, showers, taps, etc.)
- Complete first fix and second fix plumbing to a high standard
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work orders
- Ensure all work is completed in line with current regulations, company standards, and health & safety requirements
- Conduct pressure testing and final checks to ensure systems are fully operational and leak-free
- Liaise effectively with site managers, other trades, and tenants/clients where required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment, particularly in occupied properties
- Identify and report defects, additional works, or safety concerns to management
- Use tools and equipment safely and correctly, ensuring they are maintained in good condition
- Adhere to RAMS, COSHH assessments, and site procedures at all times
- Provide a high level of customer service and professionalism when working in occupied homes
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Plumber
- Experience installing kitchens and bathrooms in both void and occupied properties
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and techniques
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Ability to read drawings and follow specifications
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairs
