Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Gate, Access Control & Garage Door Technician to join our team. This role requires hands-on experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting overhead garage doors, automated gate systems, and access control equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, technically proficient, and comfortable working independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair overhead garage doors and openers (residential & commercial)
• Install, service, and repair automated gate systems (swing, slide, cantilever, etc.)
• Install and program gate operators, openers, and safety devices
• Install and troubleshoot access control systems (keypads, card readers, telephone entry systems, etc.)
• Diagnose and repair loop detectors, sensors, and related components
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems
• Perform inspections, system testing, and preventive maintenance
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and industry regulations
• Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and documentation
• Maintain professional communication with customers and team members

Qualifications

• Prior experience with garage doors, automated gate systems, and/or access control installation required
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage troubleshooting skills
• Experience with gate operators, loops, safety devices, and access control systems (CAP2D experience a plus)
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders, lifts, and outdoors in varying conditions
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Reliable, self-motivated, and professional attitude
