Gatekeeper/Bartender

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bartender/Gatekeeper to join our dynamic team. The Gatekeeper will play a crucial role in managing the entry and exit points of our venue, ensuring a smooth and secure experience for all guests.

Meet and greet customers, make recommendations and answer all related inquiries, check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age, take orders from serving staff or directly from customers, record drink orders accurately into register system, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes, respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion, attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures, process transactions using the POS system, prepare checks for customers, process customer payments, ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas, comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies, balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift, monitor inventory, order and restock bar inventory.

This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle various tasks related to food service and event management.

Duties

• Monitor and control access to the venue, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly and assisting with inquiries.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash register operations and cash handling procedures.
• Collaborate with catering staff to ensure food handling standards are met during events.
• Utilize Aloha POS system for processing orders and managing sales transactions efficiently.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the gate area, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Support bartending staff during busy periods, including serving drinks and managing inventory as needed.
• Engage with guests to promote upcoming events or specials, enhancing overall guest experience.

Experience

• Previous experience in the food industry or retail is preferred, particularly in roles involving cash handling and customer interaction.
• Familiarity with food handling practices is essential for maintaining safety standards.
• Background in catering or nightclub environments is advantageous but not required.
• Skills in sales, bartending, or retail math will be beneficial for this role.
