Gelato Server

Overview
Join our team as a Gelato Server at our new coffee and gelato shop in Bay Harbor- Bottega! You're job will be to bring joy to customers through exceptional service and delicious treats! This seasonal position is perfect for individuals eager to create memorable experiences in a lively, fast-paced environment. As a key member of our quick-service team, you will serve up delightful gelato and other sweet treats while ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a positive atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for more! Starting pay is $14/hour plus tips!

Duties

• Greet customers warmly, assist with menu selections, and provide detailed descriptions of gelato flavors and toppings to enhance their experience
• Serve gelato, sorbet, and pastries with precision, ensuring high standards of food presentation and quality
• Operate POS systems such as TOAST efficiently for order processing, payments, and cash handling
• Upsell additional toppings, beverages, or dessert options to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning workstations, utensils, and dining areas in compliance with food safety regulations
• Manage food handling responsibilities including scooping gelato, serving food safely, and adhering to proper sanitation procedures
• Assist with bussing tables, restocking supplies, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth operations

Experience

• Previous experience in food service is not required, we will train everyone on gelato scooping and food handling
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Basic math skills for cash handling, register balancing, and sales transactions
• Ability to manage time effectively during peak hours while maintaining attention to detail in food presentation and customer interactions
