General Accountant

Full job description:

A junior accountant supports the accounting department by performing day-to-day tasks such as maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable, processing journal entries, helping with financial reporting and audits, and reconciling accounts. They work under the guidance of managers, requiring a degree in accounting and strong analytical and software skills to ensure compliance with financial regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping: Recording financial transactions by making journal entries and managing the general ledger.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Managing invoices, receipts, and payments for accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Financial Reporting: Assisting in the compilation and preparation of financial statements and monthly reports under supervision.
• Payroll: Processing and administering monthly payroll and associated taxes.
• Reconciliations: Reconciling financial records and bank statements to ensure accuracy.
• Auditing Support: Assisting with audits, both internal and external.
• Compliance: Staying updated on state, federal, and other financial regulations and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks and other accounting software) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality are crucial.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a finance team.

Previous Experience: Successful candidate must have worked in a professional accounting firm with Minimum of two (2) years of work experience required. Previous experience in an accounting role in a perfume industry would be considered as an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
