The Role
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive accounting professional to manage day-to-day financial transactions, reporting, and coordination activities. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting key business functions. Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping: • Accurately record daily sales (cash and credit card) and reconcile them with bank deposits. • Manage and record operational expenses, including petty cash, staff reimbursements, and corporate credit card usage. • Process supplier invoices for purchases, utilities, projects, and other payables. • Post daily bank transactions and monthly journal entries, including accruals, depreciation, salaries, and provisions. • Reconcile intercompany transactions in accordance with internal accounting policies. • Prepare and issue client invoices accurately and on time. • Maintain financial records in the JD Edwards accounting system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance. Reporting: • Generate and reconcile daily sales and collection reports. • Compile staff credit card expense reports and ensure policy compliance. • Prepare payment forecast reports to support cash flow planning. • Support monthly reporting activities and perform regular bank reconciliations. Coordination: • Collaborate with Operations, HR, and Finance to ensure smooth financial processes. • Liaise with suppliers for invoice follow-ups and issue resolution. • Communicate with clients regarding payments and related queries. • Support internal and external audits by preparing and submitting required documentation. Other Responsibilities: • Assist in monthly and year-end financial closing activities. • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and corporate tax filings. • Contribute to ad hoc finance tasks and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- CPA Qualification is required • Must be currently residing in the UAE • Immediate availability to join is required • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong data handling and reporting skills • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks is essential; familiarity with SAP and JD Edwards is an advantage • Solid understanding of the UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations • Prior experience in the retail and food & beverage (F&B) sectors is a plus
