Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable General Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage a full range of accounting responsibilities, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance. In addition, the Accountant will oversee inventory management and client collections coordination, ensuring seamless financial and operational processes across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations and monitor cash flow and liquidity.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions efficiently.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and file statutory reports, including VAT returns, in accordance with UAE regulations.

Inventory Coordination

  • Oversee inventory tracking, valuation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to reconcile stock levels.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventories.
  • Support periodic inventory audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Collections Coordination

  • Monitor outstanding client accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of collection efforts and prepare receivables aging reports.
  • Coordinate with the sales and client service teams to ensure timely invoicing and payment collection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., ZOHO, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Attributes

  • Strong client communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach to improving financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Experience in a UAE-based organization or knowledge of UAE VAT and compliance is an advantage.
