General Accountant

Job Purpose

We are looking for a detail-oriented General Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed-asset accounting and bank reconciliations to VAT filing and supply chain cost analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Tally Prime and Google Sheets, ensuring our financial records are accurate and our supply chain operations remain cost-efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting: Maintain accurate books of accounts using Tally Prime, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
• VAT Compliance: Prepare and file quarterly/monthly VAT returns in compliance with FTA regulations; maintain all necessary documentation for audits.
• Supply Chain Accounting: Monitor and record costs related to procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution. Perform regular inventory reconciliations between physical stock and Tally records.
• Reporting: Create advanced financial trackers and automated reports using Google Sheets (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and Query functions).
• Banking & Reconciliation: Manage daily bank reconciliations, petty cash, and monitor cash flow to support trading operations.
• Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure year-end compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime and Google Sheets is mandatory.
• VAT Knowledge: Proven experience in UAE VAT filing and tax accounting.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within a Trading or Supply Chain environment.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Operational Mindset: Understanding of inventory turnover, landed costs, and logistics documentation.
