General Accountant

Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Dubai. The role involves managing end-to-end accounting operations for multiple business entities while ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations and VAT laws.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain daily income records for each entity and generate accurate daily cash flow statements.
• Track incoming payments, verify bank deposits, and perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Ensure all accounting records comply with UAE VAT regulations and FTA requirements; prepare and file VAT returns with proper supporting documents.
• Raise progressive and service-based invoices for consultancy, software, marketing, trading, and hospitality-related services.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain up-to-date aging reports.
• Review supplier invoices, manage vendor accounts, and record recurring expenses including payroll and utilities.
• Process payroll accurately, maintain employee salary records, and manage reimbursements and staff advances.
• Prepare financial reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including profitability and variance analysis.
• Organize and maintain all financial documentation such as contracts, invoices, receipts, and vendor records to support audits.
• Establish and follow internal control procedures, oversee cash handling, and assist in audits and process enhancements.
• Coordinate accounting activities across group companies and ensure consistency in reporting and intercompany reconciliations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience handling accounts for multiple companies or business units.
• Strong understanding of UAE VAT regulations, FTA compliance, and local accounting standards.
• Practical experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, reporting, and financial documentation.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and effective time management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and manage varied accounting responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, or CMA are an added advantage.
