General Accountant

The Role
We are working with a well-established and growing FMCG business in the UAE who are looking to appoint a General Accountant to support their finance function. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting, within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance • Support month-end and year-end closing activities • Prepare and post journal entries and accruals • Monitor cash flow, collections, and supplier payments • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies • Liaise with internal stakeholders across finance, operations, and procurement

Requirements
Candidate Profile • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting, ideally within FMCG or high-volume industries • Strong exposure to AP/AR and general accounting • Experience working in a fast-paced, transactional environment • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred) • Strong Excel skills • Good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines • Great attitude with flexibility and ability to think outside the box
