General Accountant - Female

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant to join our holiday homes business. The role will focus on managing financial transactions, preparing accurate reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting management with financial insights. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, hospitality/real estate experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions related to property rentals, reservations, guest payments, and vendor expenses.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely billing and collections.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and payment gateways (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and other statutory filings.
  • Process payroll and maintain employee financial records.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for holiday home operations.
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset and inventory records.
  • Assist external auditors with documentation and reporting.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial insights to support management decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, real estate, or holiday homes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Xero, Oracle, SAP).
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
