General Assignment Reporter

The Georgia Trust for Local News is looking for an experienced journalist to join our news staff in Manchester, GA as a general assignment reporter.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for accurate and timely local journalism that serves Meriweather, Harris, Talbot and Surrounding Counties. The reporter will need to work collaboratively with news and advertising staff while also owning their beat, balancing long-term projects with daily reporting.

In addition to news coverage, the general assignment reporter is responsible for assisting in the pagination of our print editions. Experience with InDesign, utilizing a CMS, shooting photos and recording video is preferred.

This is not a remote position. Our office is based in Manchester, Georgia. Reporters are required to have a valid Georgia driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance.
