General Contractor

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled General Contractor to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of construction management, site supervision, and technical skills across various trades. This role requires a proactive leader capable of coordinating multiple teams, ensuring safety standards, and delivering quality work on schedule. The position offers the opportunity to lead diverse projects, including residential, commercial, and restoration work, utilizing a broad skill set in construction techniques and tools.

Duties

• Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Oversee daily operations on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate project execution.
• Conduct construction inspections to verify quality standards are met throughout each phase.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and specialized machinery as needed for site work.
• Perform or supervise tasks such as framing, roofing, concrete finishing, masonry, drywall installation, tile laying, flooring installation, carpentry (including trim carpentry and door hanging), stucco application, plastering, caulking, glass installation, cabinet installation, welding, fabrication, and restoration work.
• Estimate project costs using construction estimating techniques and prepare detailed reports for clients or stakeholders.
• Ensure proper documentation of project progress and compliance with schematics and blueprints.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts on-site for issues related to plumbing, electrical systems (including electrical experience), or structural concerns.

Experience

• Proven experience as a General Contractor or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
• Extensive knowledge of construction management practices and building codes.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam software for digital plan review and project documentation.
• Strong background in various trades such as carpentry (frame carpentry), roofing, masonry, concrete forming/finishing, tile laying, flooring installation, plastering/Stucco application, welding, heavy equipment operation, restoration projects, hardscape design, glass installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, painting (construction painting), and schematic reading.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately to guide project execution.
• Experience with estimating costs for diverse construction projects.
• Familiarity with safety protocols on construction sites and the ability to enforce them effectively. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead complex projects while utilizing a broad skill set across the construction spectrum in a dynamic environment.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
