General Counsel

Location: New York / London (hybrid / remote available)

Position Overview

We are working with a scale-up tech organisation who are looking to expand after a series of funding. They are seeking a General Counsel to serve as the company’s chief legal advisor and a strategic thought partner to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as chief legal officer across all areas of the business, including media, content, employment, IP, data privacy, partnerships, Employment and regulatory compliance.
• Advise executive leadership on risk, governance, and legal strategy , ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory frameworks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements , including content licensing, creator partnerships, vendor contracts, and technology deals.

Qualifications

• Understanding of both UK and US law.
• Deep expertise in media law , content/IP, digital platforms, and commercial contracting.
• Experience with privacy, data protection (GDPR/CCPA), employment law , and/or venture capital transactions is a plus.
