General Counsel for Real Estate Investment Company

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Attourney, to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the commercial real estate market, including in reviewing and drafting leases, purchase and sale contracts, and loan documents. This role requires a blend of legal knowledge and real estate expertise, making it essential for candidates to have familiarity with various legal areas such as landlord-tenant law, environmental law, and litigation. As our in house General Counsel, you will be responsible for facilitating property transactions, providing expert advice to clients, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Duties

• Assist company in buying, selling, and leasing commercial properties.
• Tendering Insurance Claims and monitoring all legal matters.
• Help negotiate terms of sale or lease agreements on behalf of the company.
• Prepare legal documents related to property transactions, including purchase contracts (PSA's) and leases.
• Provide guidance on zoning laws, environmental regulations, and compliance issues. Review construction agreements and contracts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local real estate laws and regulations.
• Utilize tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw for legal research and drafting purposes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial real estate or a related field.
• Knowledge of various areas of law including basic Real Estate law, landlord-tenant law, workers' compensation law, and litigation.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
• Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting preferred.
• Prior experience in a law office or similar environment is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
